The first thing you'll notice when you walk into The Parrot and Bird Emporium is the birds. Macaws and African Grey Parrots, Cockatoos and Cockatiels, and Caiques and Conures, all out on perches and available to handle. Hand-tamed by Janet and Deb, the owners of The Parrot and Bird Emporium, each bird is socialized and waiting for your arrival.

Most of birds will "Step Up" on command. Many have been taught tricks to keep them (and you) entertained. Children often come in and assist Janet with the training. She focuses on Positive Behavior Reinforcement and uses "Clicker Training" for the birds. She even does classes to teach YOU how to handle your new addition to the family.

Birds, and parrots in particular, are a very big decision and not one to be taken lightly. Janet and (co-owner) Deb will gladly answer any questions and help you choose the right bird for you. At The Parrot and Bird Emporium, the focus is on education of owners and potential owners. It's not a high pressure sale; it can't be. As much as you choose your bird, the bird will choose you. It's almost a right of passage.
